Nursery Spaces Available
We have spaces available in our Nursery. You are very welcome to contact our school office to make an appointment with our Early Years Lead, Ms Ashraf, to visit the Nursery and talk to staff. If your child is turning 3 in the next couple of months you can apply and reserve a place. You will need to complete the initial application form below and send it to the school office. You can email the completed form to earlhaminfo@ekotrust.org.uk, or post it to the school.
Admissions
Earlham is an inclusive school, and all children are welcome here regardless of academic ability or learning need. Children can be placed on the waiting list for the nursery after the age of 2 years. We will then let you know by letter when we have a place for your child—usually around the time they are 3 years old. At that point, you will be given a date when you can meet the nursery teacher and register your child, and another date for your child to start in the nursery.
You should note that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the main school.
Children join our reception class during the academic year in which they reach their fifth birthday.
We admit children into other year groups if we have a place available. All admissions are allocated by Newham; the school does not admit pupils directly.
Parents interested in applying for a place at Earlham should call The London Borough of Newham on 020 8430 2000 and speak to Pupil Services as admissions are organised centrally. https://www.newham.gov.uk/schools-education
In-year admissions into primary school (mid-term and mid-phase admissions)
If your family arrives in Newham during the school year 2024/2025 and your child needs a school place in the borough you must complete an In Year Admissions form (link below) and you are usually given a place within 10 days.
The place offered may not be at the school you prefer as that school may not have a suitable place available.

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2018 and attends an infant school, you will need to apply for a year 3 junior place in an infant or primary school for September 2025. If they attend a primary school NOT an infant school you have the choice of your child staying at their primary school or applying to change to another school. If they are happy in their primary school you do not need to take any action.
If your child lives in Newham you will need to apply via London Borough of Newham. But if your child lives outside Newham, but you want him or her to go to school in Newham, you will need to apply through the local authority in the borough you live in.
Remember, if your child attends an infant school you must apply for a place, even if your child:
-
Already attends the infant school linked to your preferred junior school
OR

Fair Access
The law requires that each local authority must have a Fair Access Protocol (FAP), agreed with the majority of schools in its area to ensure that for In Year admissions unplaced children, especially the most vulnerable, are offered a place at a suitable school as quickly as possible. In agreeing a protocol, the local authority must ensure that no school - including those with available places - is asked to take a disproportionate number of children who have been excluded from other schools, or who have challenging behaviour. Earlham Primary School has signed up to the LB Newham’s Fair Access Protocol.
