Every Friday in Nursery and Reception we have a Family Friday, where parents and carers join their child for the first lesson of the day. Most Fridays parents join us for our phonics lesson, and hear how we say the sounds, how we write them, and how we say each sound and then blend them to say a word. This means our fantastic parents can help their child do their daily phonics homework, and to read at home.

Other Family Fridays so far this year have included a nature walk in the local park, a maths lesson to show parents how we teach children to count, and finger gym, where we use play dough and dance music to build up the muscles in our hands that will help us to hold a pencil and write.
