Yr5 girls were invited to the International Women’s Day, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics day (IWD STEM) to raise the aspirations of STEM and engage girls in STEM activities in a fun and exciting way. During the day, the girls had lots of fun experiencing virtual reality and controlling drones to move in a closed cylinder. The girls also participated in a number of workshops that included a workshop led by a doctor who specialises in immunology pathology. It was a very exciting, engaging and important day for girls with an inspiring end to the day with a skype call from a female scientist live from NASA in Washington.
