World Book Day 2020
What an amazing celebration of our love of reading this was! We shared our favourite stories, and dressed up as some of our favourite characters. Ms Ryan (aka Miss Jane Austen!) also announced the winner of our poetry competition, Chloe from Year 6, who wrote a lovely poem about Bunny, our wonderful school dog. The winning staff costumes were from our Reception team, who came as the characters from Little Red Riding Hood. Thank you to the Kindness Crew, who read a poem about kindness and looking after people who might be alone or lonely, and a a big thanks to all our families who helped the children make their own fabulous costumes this year.
Congratulations to these superstars who won a prize for the best home made costumes!
Emilia, Daisy Class - Rapunzel
Iqra, Willow Class - the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland
Soraiya, Ivy Class - Tinkerbell from Peter Pan
Ayaan, Yew Class - Billionaire Boy
And well done to all our teachers who made some terrific costumes and shared their love of reading with the children. This team from Reception came as the entire cast of Little Red Riding Hood, and won books for their classes.
World Book Day poetry competition
Congratulations to Chloe from Oak Class, who wrote the winning poem about Bunny, our school dog. Chloe did a great job of reading her poem aloud to the whole school in our World Book Day assembly - well done Chloe!
