Attendance, absence and punctuality

It is vital for your child’s learning that they attend school regularly. Therefore, your child is expected to attend school every day unless they are ill or have a medical appointment. If your child is absent from school, please let us know the reason by phoning the school, on the first morning of their absence. If your child is absent a great deal or if your child is persistently late this will be followed up by our Pupil and Family Support Worker and possibly by Newham’s Attendance Officers. Holidays are not authorised during term time.

If you contact the school to notify us of your child's absence you will be asked a series of questions about the reasons for their absence. This is to enable school leaders to ascertain if there is any possibility of a Covid-related absence, as we are required to manage these in accordance with Public Health England guidelines.
